Sun Microsystems Opens State-of-the Art Office in Markham Featuring Award-winning iWork Office
MARKHAM, ON - December 17, 2002 --
Today, Sun Microsystems of Canada Inc. officially opened its new 90,000 sq. ft.
facility in Markham, Ontario, marking the occasion with remarks from Sun's new
Canadian president, Stéphane Boisvert, and the Mayor of Markham, His Worship,
Don Cousens. The event also included a donation of toys from Sun employees to
Markham Fire Services Toy Drive for distribution in the local community.

Sun 'Tech Days' Scheduled To Make A Stop In Toronto

announced that Sun's "Technology Days" 2002-2003 seminar series will
stop in Toronto. Dr. James Gosling, vice president and Sun Fellow and
best known as the 'Father of Java' will keynote the event which takes
place at the Toronto Congress Centre on January 7 and 8, 2003.

HPCVL's Sun Cluster Ranks as Number One Canadian Supercomputing site on
International "TOP500" List
KINGSTON, ONT. & MARKHAM, ONT.--November 15, 2002 -- The High Performance
Computing Virtual Laboratory (HPCVL) and Sun Microsystems of Canada Inc. today
reported that HPCVL's central site at Queen's University has achieved the
highest ranking for a Canadian site on the "TOP500" list of the world's fastest
supercomputer sites. HPCVL, a collaborative initiative of four eastern Ontario
academic institutions--Carleton University, University of Ottawa, Queen's
University, and Royal Military College of Canada, now ranks 196 on the elite
list.

NRC's Canadian Bioinformatics Resource (CBR) as a Sun Center of Excellence in Distributed Bioinformatics. The two organizations are collaborating to create a

upon NRC-CBR's initial acquisition of Sun hardware and software for its intranet, unveiled in 1997.

MARKHAM, ONT. -June 21, 2002 - Sun Microsystems extended its lead in the Canadian RISC/UNIX® server rankings according to IDC's Q1 2002
Canadian Quarterly Server Tracker. Sun Microsystems of Canada Inc. shipped more UNIX servers than all other vendors combined continuing to distance
itself from the competition by growing server revenues by 11.1 percent and shipments by 19.0 percent over Q4 2001 levels.

IDC Rates Sun Microsystems #1 in Market Share in the Canadian Unix® Server Market
April 23, 2002 - According to IDC's Q4 2001 Canadian Quarterly Server Tracker report, Sun Microsystems of Canada Inc. grew its
UNIX® server market revenue share to 38 percent up from 35 percent in Q4, 2000. In Q4, Sun improved on its performance in Q3 to become the Canadian leader
in UNIX® server sales in Q4.
