Sun Cluster 3.1 Advanced Administration (ES-438)

Sun Cluster 3.1 Advanced Administration (ES-438)

The Sun Cluster 3.1 Advanced Administration course provides students with the skills necessary to upgrade, protect, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot software running in a Sun Cluster 3.1 software environment. Through the use of lecture and hands-on labs, students learn how to upgrade the Solaris Operating System (Solaris OS), Sun Cluster software, VERITAS Volume Manager (VxVM), and ORACLE. Students learn how Sun Cluster data services are written, in order to fully understand how to tune and configure resources and resource groups. The course discusses advanced maintenance procedures for the cluster and several advanced features, such as using Sun StorEdge QFS in the cluster. The course discusses several best practices for Sun Cluster 3.x software administration, and specifically addresses hardening the cluster security using the Solaris Security Toolkit.

Finally, the course defines general and specific troubleshooting approaches and resources to resolve problems in a Sun Cluster 3.x software environment.
